Dyeing

Dyeing is a process involving the absorption and diffusion of dye into a fibre. Different dye types can be used to dye different types of fibre but generally our members are interested in the process of dyeing naturally derived fibre.

Our Dyeing Study Group is a collaborative and sharing learning environment which meets on the 4th Saturday of the month from February to November inclusive.  Start time is 10.30am to 12.30pm.

If you want to attend for the first time you MUST contact and confirm with the coordinator as numbers are limited.  We always do our best to accommodate everyone but preference is given to members.

Confirmed attendees receive an email each month specifying what dye baths and colours are being used that month. People are requested to bring moderate amounts of any protein fibre or yarn (wool, alpaca, silk, cashmere, camel etc) to dye.

Please use the contact form below to get in touch with the coordinator.
